Softwall Cleanrooms

Technical Air Products is our vendor for Softwall Cleanrooms.  Their unique framing extrusion allows rooms to be expanded or reconfigured.  Due to the structural framing strength, a beam can be used to carry the weight of the ceiling thereby creating a free span inside the room and eliminating interior posts.

Softwall Cleanrooms come in all sizes and classifications.  The above room was built with a walkable ceiling to allow accessibility to the space above the ceiling.

Below is an example of a Softwall Cleanroom but without the structural vertical supports.  In this application, the vertical supports would have restricted access to the equipment.  The answer was to install a 2" heavy duty cleanroom ceiling grid system and to support the curtains from the grid.  The grid was hung with threaded rod and uni-strut from the bar joists.

Softwall Cleanrooms have solid curtains for the walls and strip curtains for the entrances.  The two 8'x8' rooms below were designed so that a crane could pick one unit up and stack it on top of the other unit when it was not being used and needed to be stored.

Softwall Cleanrooms are often integrated with production equipment.  Note that the room below is on castors so it can be moved away from the equipment if maintenance is needed for the production line.  Softwall Cleanrooms are furnished with a control panel that allows the lights to be turned off and on and the fan speed of the HEPA filters to be adjusted.
