In order to maximize the utilization of existing space and at the same time minimize the costs to build a Class 100,000 cleanroom, we used three existing walls and added a Rigidwall. The before photo shows the space as we originally saw it. Following our belief that using existing space is key to building economical cleanrooms, we hung a cleanroom ceiling at 9' and tied it into the existing walls and bar joists. The fan powered HEPA filters in the cleanroom pulls air from the space above the ceiling which is served by existing ductwork and pressurizes the room in a single pass air flow pattern. The control panel provides a single point electrical connection. The cleanroom has a double door ante-room to create a gowning room and a means for bringing equipment into the cleanroom. The existing walls were painted with expoxy. The project was completed in five business days.
