Injection Molding

Cleanrooms for injection molding operations come with their own unique requirements. In most cases, the ceiling height is higher than normal. The additional ceiling height is usually required by the need for overhead cranes that are used to change the molds in the molding machines. The room shown here had a 14' interior ceiling height which increased the air changeover ratio as well as presented certain challenges in terms of ceiling installation. This Class 100,000 cleanroom also required a roll-up door for equipment access. Due to the heat generated by the molding operation, more air was required for cooling than for cleanliness.
