Getting product in and out of a cleanroom must be considered during the design process. Not only is there a concern for keeping the product clean, there is also the need to keep the cleanroom under positive pressure. The size of all openings in the walls must be calculated and taken into consideration when designing the air volume required for pressurization. Proper airflow through the cleanroom is critical and must be dictated in the design of air handling system. The airflow through any opening must be controlled. As shown, any opening should be kept to a minimal size and the opening should be finished to keep the opening clean.
